March 15 and Proposed Schedule Changes

Dear Families and Staff,

The Marysville School District leadership staff is in the process of modifying the school calendar to make up for the six school closure days and the two 2-hour late start days from the winter storm in February.

There will be some adjustments to the school calendar starting with this Friday, March 15.

Friday, March 15, will be a regular school day (no early release).

Additional proposed adjustments will be made to the calendar for the remainder of the school year including the District applying to the State Superintendent for a waiver of two days. By applying for the two-day waiver and adjusting the calendar for the remainder of the school year, the proposed last day of school would be June 21.

The process of applying for a waiver and revising the school calendar requires Board and State approval. This work is underway. The proposal to revise the school calendar to make up the time lost to the school closure days includes all Friday’s beginning March 15 to be full school days with the exception of March 29 and June 21.  I will share the revised calendar with you as soon as it is approved.
