Marysville Community Food Bank
Volunteers needed on Saturdays from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. to help with sorting, organizing, cleaning and other items.
Volunteers needed Tuesdays between 2:45 and 6:30 p.m. and/or Mondays from 9:45 and 11:30 a.m. to help give out groceries to families at the Food Bank.
Shopping Assistants: We could use a number of volunteers to help take families through the food bank. The task involves pulling food off the shelves and bagging it into shopping carts. Time of need: Mondays from 8:45 a.m. to about 11:30 a.m. and Tuesdays from 2:45pm to about 6:30pm (especially toward the end of this period there is a need). Mondays are the days we could use the most help. This is the day of the week when we serve our seniors and disabled customers. Also, here are upcoming Tuesdays when we will be in high need of additional help: Feb 14, Mar 28, May 9 & Jun 20. This is a very rewarding job as you are directly serving folks that have a need for support.
Shuttle Co-pilot: The Marysville Community Food Bank is putting in place a shuttle service to assist people who do not have a ride home from the Food Bank after collecting groceries. The shuttle will drive people and their groceries from the food bank to their home. The Marysville United Methodist Church is providing a shuttle van and driver. As we wish to have one male and one female volunteer in the van at all times, we are in search of a female volunteer to accompany the driver on shuttle runs. The shuttle will operate on Tuesdays from 3:30 p.m. to approximately 6:30 p.m. and on Fridays from 9:30am to approximately 11:30 a.m. During the periods between those times when there are no people to shuttle, the volunteer is welcome to assist at the food bank helping to provide groceries to families. This may be multiple volunteers that are put on a schedule.
Grocery Donation Pickups: The Marysville Community Food Bank needs drivers with covered trucks or SUVs to pick up donations from Marysville area grocery stores. Possible days of the week are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings. Pickups take about an hour total. It works well to have two people working the food pickups but it's not required. We have a need for both drivers and assistants. Restrictions: Drivers should have their own covered truck or SUV and a clean driving record and auto insurance coverage. Drivers and assistants also need to have the ability to lift 40 pounds.
Produce Sorter: As donated produce is brought to the Food Bank from the local grocery stores it is sorted so as separate produce types while reviewing for quality. We need help with this activity on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Warehouse Assistant: Assist warehouse lead with unloading, separating, warehousing and stocking donated food. Possible days are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon and Tuesday afternoons from 2 to 6 p.m.
Marysville Boys and Girls Club
Volunteers needed daily from 4:30- 6 p.m. to spend time with kids and help with homework.

Volunteers are on-call and can choose the days/hours/frequency they’d like to work. Marysville Foster Families Needed!
Become a licensed foster parent. There are many foster children currently attending Marysville and Tulalip schools that come into care each month. If there is no open open bed with a Marysville foster family, children often must leave their school for another district with a new foster home. Alternately, children sometimes spend nights in hotels with their social workers while awaiting a local foster placement.
If you are interested in exploring foster care and providing children with information and guidance as they begin this journey, visit www.fosteringtogether.org/foster-care/overview/ or contact Megan Harp, Fostering Together Liaison at 425-350-3839 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
