Special Services

First and foremost our Special Services team would like to thank everyone for their thoughtful questions during the August 27 Town Hall meeting. We appreciate everyone's patience as we connect our students with their case managers. A reminder that our teachers’ first day back was today, September 2 and we will not begin scheduling meetings until next week. We want to make sure we have all the pieces in place to plan accordingly for services while adhering to all safety guidelines put in place by the Department of Health.

A majority of services will be delivered virtually. Marysville School District will provide a continuum of special education services to meet the individual needs of students and families, prioritizing in-person services only when it is safe to do so on a limited basis based on data and as part of the IEP team decision making process.

We miss our students and families greatly and are looking forward to partnering with families to determine what services are needed to address the impact of COVID on each student’s academic and social/emotional wellbeing. Services may need to be adjusted from current IEPs depending on the educational model we are using. Services will be provided for those of you who have independent workers and a high level of adult support at home who are choosing to go with the Marysville Online educational model. Any adjustments to services will be made in partnership with families. "See" everyone soon.
