Continuous Learning 2.0

Hello, Marysville School District Families,

It's "Welcome Back Week" in the Marysville School District as we prepare to start the 2020 - 2021 school year in remote learning tomorrow, September 9, for grades 1 - 12. Teachers, administrators, and school and district staff have been busy planning and preparing for your child(ren). As a reminder, preschool and kindergarten start on September 14, and you may hear from their schools this week if you haven't already.

By now, you should have received in US mail a letter from Superintendent Jason Thompson along with a packet of informational materials. We know we have been sharing a lot of information with you both from the schools and the district and it can be overwhelming. Linked and shared at the end of this email are previously shared resources and information for your reference.

Most of the information you receive now will come from your child's school and if you have any questions, you should reach out to them directly. A phone directory is linked below for your use. That being said, we are all here to support your child(ren) and our families. You can reach the district offices by calling (360) 965-0000.

On these first days of school during the welcome back week it is important for students in grades 1 - 12 and their parents and guardians to connect with their teacher(s). This will help to set the foundation for a successful online experience. If you have not had any contact with your child's school, please call them directly.

Important Reminders

  • Do contact your child's school or program if you have not heard from them
  • Complete the Free and Reduced-Priced Meals form and turn it in to your child's school or the district office ASAP
  • Reach out if you have questions or need assistance
  • Every day counts and matters - remember to connect each day during remote learning time
  • If you want to receive your messages in English, please notify your child's school
  • You do not need to sign up to access the free meals
  • Chromebooks for new students and Phase 3 and beyond will be done at each school
  • Internet hotspots are reserved for those families who do not have any form of internet access but they will not work if families are located in remote rural areas. Contact your child's school to apply to receive a hotspot. Some restrictions apply. OSPI is working to provide grant funding to improve access but the details are still being worked out at the state level.

We thank you for your patience, grace, and understanding during these unprecedented times. Please take good care and stay safe and healthy.
