Three Marysville Getchell High School Students Receive Letters of Commendation
for the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program

Msvl. WA - Three Marysville Getchell High School students have each received a letter of commendation for the 2021 National Merit Scholarship program.

Ashlyn White, David Lockwood, and Taryn Neal have been named Commended Students in the 2021 Program. A letter of commendation from the school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC), which conducts the program, will be presented by Marysville Getchell High School’s Principal Richard Zimmerman to these scholastically talented students.

Ashlyn, David, and Taryn, all in their senior year at Marysville Getchell High School are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.5 million students who were entered into the competition by taking the 2019 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

“Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success. These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to educational excellence in our nation” said a spokesperson for NMSC.

“These Class of 2021 students have a bright future ahead of them and we are so proud of Ashlyn, David, and Taryn for their achievements and academic successes,” says Principal Zimmerman.
