Elementary school administrators, teachers, and support staff have been planning to welcome students back to school in an in-person, hybrid learning model. This includes creating schedules, balancing classes, and setting up transportation. This update contains important information for you to know. Please read thoroughly.

Beginning Wednesday, February 17, 2021, we will move to Step 3 of the Reconnect Plan.

Step 3 of the plan includes bringing students in kindergarten and first grade back to school for in-person learning in a hybrid model. Students will attend school 4-days per week Monday through Thursday in two separate groups. Friday’s are designated for remote learning for assignments or projects. Group A will attend school in the morning (8:30 - 11:00 am) and group B will attend school in the afternoon (1:00 - 3:30 pm). If they have not done so already, your child’s elementary school will notify you directly on which group your child will attend, and their teacher assignment if it has changed to balance schedules and classrooms. If your child is a bus rider, transportation will contact you with pick up and drop off times.

The health and safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority. Processes for the health and safety are established at each school and will be followed daily. These include:

  • Students and staff wearing a mask at all times with the exception of scheduled mask breaks, drinking or eating while socially distanced.

  • Social distancing between students during drop off and pick up and hallways and classrooms.

  • Hand washing and sanitizing.

  • Individual restroom breaks.

  • Daily cleaning between student groups.

Each school will share a video with families on these health and safety processes.

CONTINUOUS LEARNING 2.0 AND HYBRID MODEL

For students staying in Continuous Learning 2.0 (remote learning), students will keep their same at-home learning schedule, however, they may have a different teacher. It is also possible that your child’s teacher may change for hybrid as schools balance their classes. Your child’s school will contact you if there are any changes to your child’s at-home remote learning schedule or teacher.
