Family and Community Engagement

The Marysville School District strives to engage with all stakeholders in a variety of ways; community meetings, public meetings of the Board of Directors, Superintendent's forums such as 'Coffee and Conversations' in neighborhood homes, district news and publications, and surveys through Thoughtexchange. We also utilize social media (FacebookTwitterInstagram and our website) to expand our communications and community engagement efforts.

Our survey results are shared on the Thoughtexchange Community Engagement website. Visit the website to learn more about the survey results.

Ways to get Involved

Parent Advisory Council
The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) was created to advise the Superintendent on topics related to family and community engagement so that Marysville schools can provide a welcoming environment to all families and develop strong school-family-community partnerships. Learn more.

Natural Leaders
Natural Leaders (Multicultural volunteer parents) is a program in many districts in the State of Washington. It was developed by WABS (Washington Alliance for Better schools) and has been made possible by the generous support of the OSPI, Gates Foundation, Tulalip Charitable Trust, United way of Snohomish County, the Discuren Foundation and in partnership with participating school districts in Washington. There are over 637 Natural leaders in 7 schools districts. There are 533 Latinos and 144 from other cultures. This program provides training for school staff on how to engage better with their ELL, multicultural families, and for parents on how to become leaders and learn about the Education system. Learn More.

Citizens Advisory Committee
The Citizens Advisory Committee was created in 2015 to advise the Marysville Superintendent and School Board on the feasibility of a future school district bond measure. The committee was comprised of about 40 parents and community members and was facilitated by an outside facilitator.
