Greetings,
March 21, 8th grade students will receive their high school selection form. Students are to select their preferred high school on that form with parent and student signature. All forms are due back to the Totem office no later than March 26.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS! Remember to set your clocks forward an hour on Saturday night before you go to bed. Sunday, March 10th is Daylight Savings.

Totem will be hosting a 5th grade Parent night on March 13th @ 5:30 - 7 pm in the Cafeteria. Learn about class & electives that will help students think critically, create & innovate, collaborate with others, communicate effectively & care compassionately. There will be an opportunity to meet some of the 6th grade teachers & take a self guided tour of our school.
This is a wonderful time to get your questions answered prior to students registering for electives at their elementary schools on March 19th.

Totem Middle School was put into lockdown briefly this morning at approximately 7:35. The lockdown was a precaution to provide security and administration staff time to investigate an incident that involved a rock striking a window causing the outer side of the window to break. All students and staff are safe.

Wednesday, November 21st will be a 12:20pm early release, followed by no school on Thursday and Friday. School will resume as usual on Monday, November 26th.

Highly Capable Referral Forms for the 19-20 SY are due by December 14th.
The referral form is available online: https://www.msd25.org/o/District/page/highly-capable--2 and building secretaries have forms available in the main office.
We will be administering the COGAT Screener to all of our Kindergarten students again this year in January, therefore Kindergarten parents do not need to fill out referral forms.
Testing for students in grades 1st -8th will take place in February/March.

Good evening Totem families, we have made it through our first two days of school. Congratulations! We have a couple of short announcements.
1. Tomorrow is our first early dismissal. Dismissal time on Fridays is at 1:20pm.
2. Chromebook deployment for students will be on Monday, September 10th during the school day. To receive a Chromebook, students will need to turn in a signed "Technonology Responsible Use and Safety Agreement form." This form needs to be signed by both the parent and the student. If you did not already complete this form, please send your student to the main office tomorrow, Friday September 7, to pick one up.

This is where you will receive your schedules, orientate yourselves to the school and classrooms, and purchase ASB, yearbooks, PE clothes and spirit wear.

The Marysville School District and Marysville Police Department wish to dispel certain rumors being circulated in the public via social media and in person; where it is alleged that a student brought a gun to campus yesterday, March 21.
School Resource Officers with the Marysville Police Department and the Marysville School District did a full investigation and confirmed there was no credible threat, nor was there a gun found.
Both agencies take any and all reports of weapons and threats seriously. We thank the individuals who come forward and make reports regarding these matters. If you have further questions, please contact the Marysville Police Department’s non-emergency line at (360) 363-8300.
