Marysville-Pilchuck Drama Club Press Release: For immediate release

Marysville-Pilchuck Drama Club proudly presents the hit Broadway musical “Mamma Mia!” April 27th, 28th, 29th and May 4th at 5th at 7:00 pm and May 6th at noon in the M-PHS Auditorium. The show features students from both Marysville-Pilchuck and Marysville-Getchell participating in the cast, stage and tech crews.

“Mamma Mia!” takes place on a small Greek Island where Sophie dreams of a perfect wedding-that includes her father giving her away. Unfortunately, Sophie doesn’t know who he is, because her mother, Donna, the former lead singer of the pop group Donna and the Dynamos, refuses to talk about her past. Sophie takes matters into her own hands by sneaking a peak at her mother’s old diaries and discovers three possible fathers: Sam, Bill and Harry. She secretly invites all three to her wedding thinking that she’ll know her father when she sees him. When all three show up, she finds that it’s not that easy!  The story is told through the legendary music of ABBA with music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus with some songs by Stig Anderson and a book by Catherine Johnson.

Included in the cast are: Kenna Kinsfather as Sophie, Kate Kolasinski as Donna, Anna Blanchard as Tanya, Bellatrix Gooding as Rosie, Christopher Ross as Sam, Leif Winter as Harry, Luis Banales Medina as Bill, Colton Smith as Sky, Ty Cambell as Pepper, Angelina Saechao as Eddie, Hailey Sawyers as Ali, Lilly Lavato as Lisa, Ray Emerson as Father Alexandrios and an incredible ensemble featuring Annie Brediger, Beau Prettyman, Rachel Turrall, Void MacWatters, Brittany Ko, MaryaAnna Garner, Emma Abele, Maisie Pagle, Lili Sawyers, Madison Boyd, Cyrus Legaspi, Sage Obiero, Madison Garcia, Valerie Galvez and Nohri Nunez.

Behind the scenes are many parents and teachers who worked hard to make this show possible. Cedarcrest Drama teacher Darren Oke assisted with characters and Marysville-Pilchuck High School Drama teacher, Roy Klementsen is the show’s director.
