Highly Capable Program Information and Updates
January 23, 2024: The HCSS Task Force Representatives met and reviewed the HCSS Annual Districtwide Survey 2023-2024 data in detail. The committee also reviewed and discussed other Highly Capable Service Models.
January 9, 2024: First virtual meeting with the HCSS Task Force Representatives. The committee reviewed the provided available resources and data to assist with identifying what should be used in the Marysville School District Highly Capable Student Services model.
January 5, 2024: Notifications were sent out to identify participants on the Highly Capable Student Services (HCSS) Task Force.
November 15, 2023: The Marysville School District is in the process of reviewing Procedure 2190, Highly Capable Student Services. Changes need to be made to the current procedure to comply with the new state law that went into effect in July 2023. Over the past several weeks, time has been invested in developing a clear and comprehensive Highly Capable Student Services Action Plan, which provides a set of guiding principles and ensures community involvement in reshaping Procedure 2190 to meet the state law and the needs of all highly capable students.
