Good afternoon MG Students!
The MGHS PTSA is pleased to announce that we will be participating in the 2025 PTA Reflections Art Contest under the theme "I Belong".
The Reflections Art Contest was started in 1969 and for more than 50 years has inspired students around the USA to participate in student advocacy through the creation or original art through reflection on a specific student selected theme.
The MGHS PTSA will be accepting original art in 6 areas:
Literature- works of fiction, nonfiction, poetry, prose, drama, short stories and lyrics.
Music Composition- original musical composition, with or without words.
Photography- color or black and white, included techniques: photogram, negative sandwich, and multiple exposure.
Visual Arts- drawing, painting in tempera, oil, acrylic, watercolor & t-shirt paints, computer generated art, two-dimensional collage, printmaking, needlework & leather tooling.
Film/Video- original works, with or without sound, of animation, narrative, documentary, experimental or music video/film.
Choreography/Dance- originally choreographed dance composition.
Additionally, there is an Accessible Arts category for students needing accommodations. Full guidelines for each Art area and the Accessible Arts category can be found on the Washington State PTA Reflections site under the heading "Student Entry Guidelines".
Information can also be found through the National PTA Reflections Program Home.
Submission Information
Physical artwork will be accepted at the office until the end of the school day on Friday November 21st. Digital Artwork can be submitted via email to MGHSPTA@gmail.com. Each entry will need a completed Entry form linked here!
Entries submitted to the PTSA have an opportunity to be sent to the Marysville PTA Council Reflections competition and then potentially on to the State and National level with recognition and scholarship opportunities.
We look forward to seeing the artwork that is submitted, and that all of you will encourage each other to think about what "I Belong" means and how that theme can be expressed in art.
Thank you from the MGHS PTSA
