February 2022

Hi Chargers! A friendly reminder, my name is Ms. C and I am your Career & College Readiness Counselor.

Students, please take a moment to add yourself to my Google Classroom [class code: pvwblss]. Here you will find an array of helpful information, topics including upcoming college rep, career, and recruiter visits, scholarship opportunities, financial aid information, job listings, and SO much more!

Many of our seniors are working on completing and submitting their applications to various post secondary learning and training opportunities! I am here to help. I can assist with these admissions processes, including applications and essay review, financial aid, and financial planning, scholarships, resume review and creation, and much more!

Are you in need of an official transcript? Please complete this form to request an official MGHS transcript for each organization you would like to have your transcript sent. If you are in Running Start or have taken College in the High School classes, you can request your official Everett Community College transcript as well.

Are you  in need of help completing your FAFSA or WASFA application? Please visit the Washington Student Achievement Council website to watch the recordings of their previous workshops. Additionally, the College Success Foundation is hosting a variety of Financial Aid Student and Family Webinars this school year.

After being accepted to college, you’ll receive a financial aid offer that outlines your eligibility at that specific school. Each financial aid offer will contain similar information overall, but since there’s no standard format they can be difficult to interpret. In this session you’ll learn how to decipher each offer so you can confidently determine which college is the best fit. Sallie Mae is hosting Navigating Financial Aid Offers webinars. Space is limited, so please register early! [Wednesday, February 23 at 4pm Register Now/Thursday, February 24 at 5pm Register Now].

Seniors, are you in need of additional monetary help with graduation expenses? The Assistance League of Everett is accepting applications for their Graduation Awards.  Graduation Awards of up to $250 per student are to be used for senior year graduation expenses (for example costs for cap & gown, senior party/trip, announcements, senior pictures, senior projects, etc.). Financial need is the main criterion for this award. Applications are due to Ms. Coragiulo, Career & College Readiness Counselor, by March 1, 2022. Late applications will not be accepted.

Please make sure you are staying up to date on all emails and posts to the classroom from me. You won’t want to miss out! As always, please reach out to me if you have any questions or if there is anything I can assist you with! My office is located in C214 (I’ve moved) and my door is (almost) always open!

Make it a great day the Charger way!

 Thank you,

Alicia Coragiulo, MSW
