Hello Getchell Students and Parents!

I hope everyone has had a wonderful start to the year! My name is Michelle Terry and I am the Student Assistance Professional (SAP) here at Getchell High School! I am writing you today to share more about what I do and how I can be a resource for you.

My job is to be an advocate for students and implement a program called Project Success. Through my Project Success education series students will get the opportunity to learn more about Adolescence and Communication, Empathy and Healthy Relationships, Stress and Coping, and Substances and Family.

In addition to in class teaching, I also meet with students both individually and in small groups. Students who are referred to me are experiencing challenges in a variety of areas. Those areas can be related to personal substance use, substance use by a family member or peer, or students who are at risk of use. I also meet with students who may be having a hard time adjusting to school and may need a little more support. I provide a confidential, safe place for students to share.

We are hopeful that Project Success will be effective in preventing and reducing substance use and in improving school performance.

Please feel free to email me at michelle_terry@msvl.k12.wa.us or call me on my desk number 360-965-2414.

Sincerely

Michelle Terry
