As the Marysville School District continues to prioritize financial recovery and align the budget more closely with our community’s values, there’s been a consistent message from the Marysville and Tulalip families we serve: Sports matter.
We hear you – and we agree.
That’s why, effective Fall 2026, the Marysville School District is bringing back sports at Cedarcrest and Totem Middle Schools.
This means that, starting next school year, the following sports will once again be offered at Cedarcrest and Totem Middle Schools (in addition to cross country and track & field):
🏈 Football
🏀 Basketball
🏐 Volleyball
🥎 Fastpitch
🤼 Co-Ed Wrestling
Student athletes enrolled at 10th Street will play sports at the “boundary” school associated with their home address. (For example, if Cedarcrest Middle is the school a student would attend if they hadn’t enrolled in 10th Street, they will play sports at Cedarcrest.)
Fall sports registration opens May 27. You can view requirements and other information about registration on the Athletics page on our website.
Although the challenges the district has faced in recent years have led to many difficult decisions and sacrifices across our community, the district continues to make progress toward financial recovery.
Ultimately, bringing back sports at our middle schools would not be possible without the ongoing support of our community through levy funding, as well as direct philanthropic support from Foundry 10.
To our community: Thank you for your commitment to providing students with important opportunities in MSD.
