Welcome from Interim Superintendent Jason Thompson
On behalf of all the staff at the Marysville School District, I want to thank you for being part of our schools and community, and for entrusting us with your children’s education. I hope you share my enthusiasm for this exciting time of year full of new beginnings and fresh starts.
As Interim Superintendent, my goal is to help our district and community build upon its successes and construct a foundation that will grow our achievements in the years to come. Early on in my educational career, I learned about the power of caring, and witnessed, first-hand the positive impact it can have on a student’s life and their future.
Building strong, trusting relationships with our families, students and staff is important to me, and will be a key driver in my approach, and every decision I make during my time in this role.
What I have always loved about Marysville and Tulalip is the passion of its residents. No matter where you come from, your beliefs, or your solution to a problem, you and everyone here wants Marysville to be the very best it can be. It is important that we all remember this as we work together to tackle our shared challenges and grow our success.
As a parent, you are your child’s first teacher, and we join you in their educational journey the day they arrive in our classrooms. As a community member, you serve as a mentor and can show what community looks like in action. Strong families and strong community members build strong schools and in turn, create great communities. I invite you to join us or double down on your efforts in our work to engage, inspire and prepare our students.
I’m honored to serve and wish you a wonderful school year!
