UPDATE - 6:34 AM: This morning, school and district administration met with school staff. The safety of students is our top priority and staff has been reminded to be extra vigilant. School will run on a normal schedule, and Marysville Pilchuck will have extra police and staff presence as students arrive and throughout the day. If you choose to keep your child home today, please make sure to call the attendance line at 360-965-2001. Absences will be excused.
Dear Marysville Pilchuck Families,
I would like to inform you that on Tuesday, September 25, at approximately 2:30 PM, school administration became aware of a handwritten message on a bathroom wall. The message stated that there would be a shooting on Thursday.
We take all information of this nature seriously and our staff immediately put a safety plan in motion. We notified the Marysville Police Department and out of an abundance of caution we felt it important to notify our families. We continue to work with law enforcement in our decision-making process and plan to operate school on a normal schedule tomorrow. Parents and students will be notified of any changes.
Please know that safety is our top priority. We will take all precautions to keep all students and staff safe.
Principal, Marysville-Pilchuck High School
