Dr. Robbins shares Superintendent’s Entry Plan

Dr. Zachary Robbins, the new Marysville School District Superintendent, has developed an entry plan that lays out his first several months on the job in three distinct phases. 

    Msvl. WA - The superintendent is responsible for achieving big-picture goals for a school district that lead to all students’ academic growth and socio-emotional wellness. The superintendency is a role defined by service to a city and the schools that serve the city’s children. This role provides essential leadership to educate every child, obtain and develop high-quality staff, secure and manage funds and facilities, and encourage and maintain communication between the schools and the public. The purpose of this entry plan is to provide a structure to support Dr. Robbins’ transition as superintendent of the Marysville School District as he listens to students, staff, families, and the greater Marysville and Tulalip community to:

  • Ensure an effective, efficient, and orderly leadership transition, keeping the focus on continuous improvement and increased student achievement for all students;

  • Create opportunities for Dr. Robbins to listen broadly and deeply to various constituents to understand all critical aspects of the Marysville School District and increase community engagement;

  • Build public trust in our schools; and

  • Identify the district’s strengths, improvement opportunities, and challenges.

The activities outlined in this plan are designed to help Dr. Robbins accelerate a successful leadership transition by quickly gathering critical information about the needs of children, staff, schools, and the community. 

  • The plan’s activities will help Dr. Robbins establish a strong community presence early in his superintendency and efficiently assess the Marysville School District’s strengths, challenges, and opportunities for improvement. 

  • This plan will allow Dr. Robbins to address district needs while honoring past work. 

  • This plan will create a community network of contacts and resources to help the Marysville School District be an optimal, sought-after, revered, and emulated school district for children.

This entry plan is designed to include varied and diverse groups of people, including voices that may not be heard through traditional forms of communication.

This entry plan has three distinct phases:

  • Phase I: Pre-Entry

    • Spring 2022

  • Phase II: Entry

    • July 1 – December 31, 2022

  • Phase III: Development of Summary Report and Strategic Plan Updates

    • Fall 2022 – Winter 2023
