This morning at approximately 9:45 am a 911 call came through Snohomish County dispatch from an unknown source stating there was an active shooter at the Marysville Getchell High School campus. Out of an abundance of caution for the safety of students and staff, the school was placed on lockdown. Marysville Police Department immediately responded and quickly investigated. Police have indicated there is no credible threat taking place on campus.
All calls whether considered legitimate or not are taken seriously and the police remained on campus until all areas were checked and verified and deemed no threat.
Parents, please do not go to the school to pick up your child as you will not be allowed access during a lockdown. The lockdown will be cleared shortly. All students and staff are safe. We appreciate the quick response from the Marysville Police Department to help us keep our students, staff, and community safe. School Resource Officers will remain on campus.
