The Marysville School District is hopeful that relief is in sight as new bus drivers are hired, trained, and added to our professional transportation team.

School is in full swing in the Marysville School District! The District has had a great start to the school year. It is exciting to see students in classrooms with their teachers and families visiting schools. While students are happily in school, the District recognizes there are some transportation concerns with late buses or, in some cases, canceled routes. These transportation issues are due to a bus driver shortage. There have been a number of routes and families affected, and we are doing all we can to recruit bus drivers for our children.

The District is hopeful as relief is in sight. New drivers are currently undergoing training to ensure they meet all the safety requirements before driving. In the meantime, families are asked to be prepared for late buses and potential route cancellations until new drivers are trained and we are able to fill the open bus driver positions. The Transportation Department will notify families as soon as possible if a route is canceled or significantly delayed. The District thanks families for their patience and understanding as it navigates this national crisis with school transportation. District and school staff understand the frustrations the shortage creates and share those feelings with you.

Please help spread the word in the community about the job opportunities available in the Transportation Department.  Free driver training, including  CDL testing, a $1,000 training bonus, great benefits, and retirement packages are offered. The District has a Job Fair scheduled for Saturday, September 17, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Marysville Pilchuck High School Commons. The public is invited to attend and learn more about job opportunities in transportation and across the District.
