MSD Update and Information

November 8, 2021

Marysville School District Families and Staff,

The Snohomish Health District recently met with school districts in the region and they announced some changes to the quarantine guidance, providing districts with continuously more flexibility. This update provides information on the updated Department of Health guidance, the Learn to Return program, COVID Testing, and COVID Vaccines.

Revised Quarantine Guidance (WA State Department of Health) The most significant changes are the following:

  • The 14-day quarantine is no longer a requirement for any case. A 10-day quarantine is now standard (for both internal and external exposures and positive cases) with the option to test after day 5 - see Learn to Return information below.

  • Asymptomatic close contacts who have had confirmed COVID-19 within the past 90 days do not have to quarantine but should do a rapid test within 5 - 7 days to confirm that they are no longer COVID positive.

  • Please note, there may be circumstances that require a 14-day quarantine. The district will collaborate with the Snohomish Health District on any exceptions to the standard quarantine.

COVID Testing Free PCR tests can be obtained at several drive-up locations. Click HERE to find a location nearest you. Testing by appointment is also available at the Snohomish Health District. As part of the Learn to Return plan we are also pleased to announce that beginning November 15, the Marysville School District will offer a drive-up testing site offering both PCR and rapid tests for students, family members, and staff at the Educational Service Center located at 4220 80th Street NE. Watch for more information coming soon for this option.
