51st Ave is closed between 92nd St and 97th St due to police activity in the area. There is no threat to students or schools, however buses in this area will be rerouted. For students in this neighborhood walking to Pinewood or Cascade elementary schools, there will be a bus located at the corner of 92nd and 51st to transport students to both schools.
At this time, it is expected for schools to operate on a normal schedule. We will provide updates as they become available.

"Last week, 54 fifth-grade students from the Marysville Cooperative Education Partnership at Marshall Elementary lived in dormitories and learned about engineering at the University of Washington. The grant-funded Engineering Week started three years ago to help teachers gain more expertise in engineering, but grew into an event that includes students and parents, too. It took place during the first full week of school for the Marysville students, but before UW students started classes." Read more at https://goo.gl/1FXXE8

Hey students and families! Remember that if you or someone you know is being harassed, intimidated or bullied, you can report it using Safe Schools. Reports can be anonymous and there are several ways to do it - call, text, email or report online at msvl-wa.safeschoolsalert.com. Join #MSD25 as we work together to provide all kids with a kind, safe, and bully-free school environment.

Chances are your child will need to miss a few days of school this year. While some absences might seem more excusable, the impact is actually the same whether your child is sick, ditching or taking a family trip. Any absence makes it harder for your child to keep up with the everyday classroom learning that is needed to grow and succeed. Some absences are unavoidable; but too many will make your child fall behind and they might not be able to catch up. Save absences for when it is absolutely necessary and make sure they are in #SchoolEveryDay!

A power outage at Marysville Pilchuck High School and surrounding neighborhoods occurred this morning from about 7:50-8:20 am. Power is now restored and school is operating on a normal schedule. PUD is investigating the cause of the outage.

Walk and Bike to School Day is Wednesday, October 10! When walking or biking, children and families get to appreciate things they don’t notice while driving—listening to the sounds of the neighborhood, seeing friends and neighbors and feeling connected with their community. Parents, children and friends can enjoy one another’s company without the usual distractions. Learn how you can celebrate the day and organize events at your school by visiting: www.walkbiketoschool.org

It’s part of the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports the district has been using for a while, but now it’s consistent in every class" via The Marysville Globe at https://goo.gl/rZAg9C

"It is easy to get discouraged or defeated when our plans change - when things don’t go the way we anticipated. Learn to be flexible but never stop striving to reach your goals. Stay encouraged and know that everything will come together the way it is meant to." - #MSD25 Homegrown Hero, Alexys Michel. Read more at bit.ly/HomegrownHeroes
