"About 75 Marysville high school students spent the day learning about skilled trades at Marysville Pilchuck. Across a parking lot filled with equipment, vehicles and presenters, Alextan Roodzant, 18, climbed down from the cab of a backhoe. The Marysville Getchell senior has seen backhoes at work plenty of times because a family friend does construction. She’d never operated one, though. She didn’t realize how many controls there were, and how much know-how it takes to make the big yellow machine bite into the dirt, lift, turn and release. “A lot of us want to pursue engineering or construction careers,” Roodzant said. “This is a great opportunity.” via Everett Herald: https://goo.gl/ijZKM3

Marysville Getchell and Marysville Pilchuck High Schools' spring drama production: The Drowsy Chaperone begins TOMORROW! A parody of American musical comedy of the 1920s, the story concerns a middle-aged, asocial musical theatre fan as he plays the record of his favorite musical, the (fictional) 1928 hit, The Drowsy Chaperone. The show comes to life onstage as he wryly comments on the music, story, and actors. Show dates and ticket prices at bit.ly/TheDrowsyChaperone

UPDATE, April 24 @ 8:05 PM: NWRDC is reporting this evening they have received the equipment to resolve the issue preventing our access to Skyward, Wespac, Employee Access and IEPOnline. Their restoration process began today around 2 PM and is expected to take 15 hours. We do not know if that means system access will be restored by tomorrow morning or later in the day, but they do appear to be getting closer to resolving this issue. Thank you again for your patience this week. UPDATE, April 23 @ 4:18 PM: NWRDC is reporting continued outages at their facility which provides us with Skyward, IEPOnline, WESPAC and Employee Access. They are reporting the outage will continue through Wednesday. We will continue to keep you updated as we learn more. Attention Families: This afternoon we received word that Skyward has a system-wide outage due to a bad firmware patch applied to all of their network switches, which has made all of their services inoperative. We do not have an ETA on the restoration of services at this time, just that they are working with the switch vendor to replace the switches at NWRDC.
