AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination, is a kindergarten through postsecondary college readiness system designed to increase the number of students who enroll and succeed in higher education and in their lives beyond high school. The AVID elective class, which is offered at all of our middle and high schools, is intended to benefit those students who have the desire and potential to attend college but need additional academic and social supports. If you are interested in finding out more about AVID, we are having an Informational Night for parents and students TONIGHT, April 17 at 6 p.m. in the Board Room at the District Office. Over Spring Break, 26 Marysville Getchell FBLA students competed in the Future Business Leaders of America State Business Leadership Conference in Bellevue. Students competed in events ranging from Accounting to Parliamentary Procedures and tested their skills against more than 2000 peers in Washington State. Marysville Getchell made their presence known by bringing home 16 awards! Way to go #Chargers!
