We’re thrilled to share that our school is partnering with Books Are Fun and the Book Blast program to help put brand-new, age-appropriate books into the hands of every student!
❤️ Why we love Book Blast:
• Every student receives books they’ll love and want to read
• 100% of contributions go directly to books and classroom needs
• The book selection is thoughtfully curated and truly engaging
📩 Keep an eye out for more details coming soon!
🗺️ Students will also be bringing home a Treasure Map—their ticket to joining the fun, earning books, and unlocking some exciting prizes. It’s simple, fun, and encourages reading at home!

Due to power outages at schools across the system today, Dec. 17, Marysville School District will be closed.
All before and after-school activities and athletics are also canceled.

Spirit Week is coming up, so now’s a great time to wash and set aside outfits for each theme day. Here’s what to expect:
• Monday 12/15 – Twin Day 👯♂️
Dress alike with a friend or group — and don’t forget to match your hair, too! 💇♀️💇
• Tuesday 12/16 – Candy Cane/Stripe Day 🍭⭐
Red, white, and stripes all around!
• Wednesday 12/17 – Elf Day / Santa’s Helper 🧝🎅
Festive hats, green outfits, and cheerful accessories encouraged.
• Thursday 12/18 – Ugly Sweater Day 🧶✨

• Friday 12/19 – PJ Day 😴🛌
A cozy way to end the week—wear your favorite pajamas!
A little preparation now will help your child enjoy every themed day to the fullest! 🎈

🎄🍬 Gingerbread Night is almost here! The Cascade PTA is collecting candy and fun decorating items to make this FREE event extra magical. If you’re able to donate a bag of candy or supplies for gingerbread house decorating, we’d be so grateful!
📦✨ Donations can also be dropped off in the school office before the event. At the event, donations are appreciated and taken inside at the supply table.
Great donation ideas:
🥣 Fun-shaped cereal
🥨 Pretzel sticks
🍥 Licorice
🍡 Marshmallows
🍬 Leftover Halloween candy
✨ Sprinkles
…or anything fun and creative you can think of!
Thank you for helping us make this a festive night for our families! ❤️🎁

Marysville School District buses have so far been able to transport students to and from school safely. The MSD Transportation team expects that buses will continue to be able to pick up students safely tomorrow.
MSD Leadership does not anticipate any district-wide school closures or delays due to the weather, but will continue to monitor the situation overnight.
However, MSD schools are ready to provide flexibility with student tardies and absences for families who have been affected by flood road closures and evacuations.
Ultimately, our students' safety is our top priority.

Halloween Costume Guidelines
To keep Halloween fun for everyone, here are the Marysville School District's guidelines for folks who would like to bring or wear costumes to school:
• Costumes should not be offensive or discriminatory, including those based on or portraying a particular race, color, sex, gender, disability, or national origin. Face paint or wigs should not be worn to portray different races or skin colors. Remember: costumes are for characters, not cultures.
• Costumes cannot include weapons, simulated weapons, or props that could be dangerous to others.
• Students cannot wear masks, face coverings, or face paint.
• Costumes must be school-appropriate and comply with the dress code.
• Anything placed in the mouth is not allowed, like pacifiers or false teeth.
• Costumes that depict violence, gore, alcohol, or drugs are not allowed.
