Today, our fifth graders launched the hot air balloons they’ve been working on for over a month! This tradition has always been a special send-off as they move on to middle school. While this year's class will remain at Cascade for one more year, we proudly continued the celebration. Their hard work, creativity, and excitement made for a memorable and inspiring day!

Field Day was full of fun and laughter with water-themed events like the water cup relay, sponge toss, parachute fun, noodle tag, and so much more! Huge thanks to the Marysville Fire Department for coming out and helping everyone cool down – the kids loved it! 🚒💧

Now that’s what we call a sweet reward! The top 10 fundraising students got the honor to pie the principal in the face. 🥧 Ms. Strong was sweet and not at all crusty about it. We hope every student enjoyed the Color Run on Thursday, we sure did! Donations are still welcome throughout the weekend and will help us greatly!!

Garden Club Plant Sale on Wed June 11th starting at 350PM after Field Day!
Congratulations to Cascade Elementary's Principal, Elisa Strong, who was one of just two principals recognized at the 2024–2025 Marysville PTA Council 7.4 Awards Banquet. The event was a heartwarming tribute to the power of community and the incredible impact of our PTSA organizations.

Two Marysville Schools Earn State Recognition
Cascade Elementary and Marysville Pilchuck High School have been recognized for academic achievement by the State Board of Education, EOGOAC, and OSPI for the 2023–2024 school year.
These honors highlight progress in:
Closing Gaps – Significant improvements in areas such as test scores, graduation rates, or English learner progress.
Growth – Strong academic gains among specific student groups.
Achievement – High performance in key areas like attendance, assessments, or graduation rates.
Cascade Elementary was recognized for growth among students in one or more racial or ethnic groups. Marysville Pilchuck High was honored for closing gaps in specific areas or student groups.
“Achieving this honor is no small feat,” said Bill Kallappa, State Board of Education Chair. Superintendent Dr. Deborah Rumbaugh added, “We are proud of our students and staff—this recognition is well-deserved.”
Both schools will receive a banner and certificate, and be featured on the State Board of Education website. To learn more about the State Board of Education and the recognition program, go to www.sbe.wa.gov.

Cascade Teacher Speaks before the HOUSE EDUCATION COMMITTEE

GRANTS GIVEN TO CASCADE ELEMENTARY
Cascade Elementary was awarded grant money from Waste Management to adopt reusable items for our daily operations, demonstrating to the students the importance of making conscious choices for the planet. For the health room, we were given an ice machine and reusable icepacks and for the staff lounge, plates, bowls and silverware to
eliminate waste.
From the Washington State Traffic Commission, Cascade Elementary was awarded grant money to purchase new safety patrol vests, baseball caps for next year that will provide essential protection and improving their overall situational awareness. two safety cones to further improve the visibility of our patrol students during busy times and Patrol badges for identification.

The items on this list do not need to be new—if you have any of them at home in clean, usable condition and are no longer using them, we’d love to take them off your hands.
We are also in need of raised bed soil, compost, and potting soil. I have three round beds that need to be set up, but I can’t get started until we have enough soil and compost—any contributions in that area would be a huge help!

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Camp Erin® King and Snohomish Counties are free bereavement camps
for youth grieving the death of a significant person in their lives. Children
and teens ages 6 to 17 attend a weekend camp experience that combines
grief education and emotional support with fun, traditional camp
activities. Led by bereavement professionals and caring volunteers,
campers are provided a safe environment to explore their grief, learn
essential coping skills, and make friends with peers who are also grieving.
